Total Hip Replacement – Patient Story
We love to hear from our past patients about their progress after having surgery. We just received this letter from a patient that had hip replacement surgery by Dr. Kassman.
“Less than three weeks ago, I was at the Core Institute Specialty Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, undergoing total hip replacement surgery. I was there because I was told by the Hip and Knee Clinic here in Alberta that the wait time for the surgery would be one year. Considering the rapid increase in my pain level, and the increasing pain medications I was taking to control it, it was obvious to me that I had to consider alternatives.
An internet search led me to Timely Medical Alternatives based in Vancouver. Less than 24 hours after my initial contact, I was contacted by both Rick Baker and Christian Baker, who provided me with all the particulars of having my surgery done in the USA. Their professionalism led me to trust them immediately.
I was referred to Dr. Steven R. Kassman of the Core Institute Specialty Hospital. He and his staff led me step by step in the process, answering all my questions, often within an hour. Even a couple of medical hiccups I experienced were dealt with quickly and efficiently. My surgery was uneventful – the best kind – and within a day, I was up and walking. Scott Radomski, physiotherapist, visited me at the hotel three times, providing me with an exercise plan, making it unnecessary for me to have further physiotherapy once back at home. Nine days later, I was flying back to Alberta, virtually pain-free and needing nothing more than a cane, which I was able to retire within a week.
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to Timely Medical Alternatives, to the Core Institute, to Dr. Kassman (surgeon), to Dr. Pedicini (anaesthesiologist), and to Scott for the way I was treated in a professional, caring, and timely manner. For the first time in months, I am pain free, and can once again resume my normally active lifestyle.”
