William Salyer, MD
I was very young when I knew I was going to be a doctor. I was always a good student. I enjoy the mechanical aspects of orthopedic surgery. It is gratifying to see the results in my patients, often fairly quickly. When I first went to medical school, I thought I was going to be a heart surgeon. I saw that the orthopedic residents were having more fun. I think there’s less stress in this specialty because patients are healthy.
