OrthoArizona Sports Medicine Specialist Keith A. Jarbo, MD, Receives HonorHealth’s 2018 Citizenship and Community Service Award
A big congratulations to Dr. Keith A. Jarbo for being awarded the 2018 Citizenship and Community Service Award by HonorHealth John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital. The award recognizes practicing physicians who have made an outstanding contribution to the community in the form of citizenship and public service.
Dr. Jarbo was recognized with this award for his work with Phoenix-based organization Team Of Physicians for Students (TOPS), an organization that provides free sports physical screenings to high school and college-aged student athletes to help ensure their safety and well being on and off the field. Through his service with TOPS, Dr. Jarbo attends monthly planning meetings, performs student physicals while also overseeing a team of medical students who perform physicals, and he provides ongoing guidance and feedback to the TOPS team. Through Dr. Jarbo’s efforts, the TOPS program has resulted in thousands of physicals performed annually across 13 Phoenix-area schools for students who would not ordinarily have access to quality orthopedic treatment and care.
As a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and a valued member of the OrthoArizona team, Dr. Jarbo specializes in sports medicine and he has expertise in knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery. This includes ligament reconstruction of the knee (ACL/PCL) and elbow (UCL or Tommy John), cartilage restoration procedures, rotator cuff and labral surgery, minimally invasive knee or shoulder replacements, reverse shoulder replacement, and fracture care. He attended the prestigious David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Banner Good Samaritan in Phoenix, AZ, and completed a fellowship with UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Miami, FL.
