Welcome Dr. Mario A. Taylor, M.D.

Announcing the addition of Dr. Mario A. Taylor, an orthopedic spine surgeon serving the Gilbert, Arizona community.

PHOENIX – OrthoArizona is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Mario A. Taylor, M.D. to the Spine service line. Dr. Taylor will serve patients out of OrthoArizona’s South Gilbert, Chandler Village and Queen Creek locations.

Dr. Taylor attended medical school at Howard University, and then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington. He furthered his training with a fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at the University of San Diego.

He has interest in a myriad of conditions, including but not limited to spinal stenosisradiculopathylow back pain, spinal deformity, spondylolisthesisdegenerative disc diseasedisc herniations, and failed back syndrome. Dr. Taylor also has extensive training in both traditional open spine surgeries, as well as minimally invasive procedures, including fusion, motion-sparing and percutaneous techniques in adult patients.

Identified as an up-and-coming orthopedic doctor by several organizations, Dr. Taylor earned a spot in the American Orthopaedic Association’s Emerging Leaders Program. As a part of the program, he was able to network with some of the top orthopedic surgeons in the U.S. and Canada, complete exclusive leadership courses and serve in leadership positions within the AOA.

Dr. Taylor already has several published research articles, including work on floating cervical spine injuries and has lectured across the nation to healthcare providers on various topics involving orthopedics, including on fracture patterns in multiligamentous knee injuries, thumb CMC arthroplasty and more.

He has also won several awards, including being elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society and registration to the 2023 AOA C. McCollister Evarts Resident Leadership Forum given to the outstanding residents from accredited institutions who have garnered recognition as up-and-coming orthopaedic leaders within their program.

Outside of the office, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, working out and snowboarding.
