About Dr. Nelson
Dr. Cory Nelson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the management of injuries in youth and adult patients of all athletic skill levels, from recreational to professional athletes. He emphasizes patient-centered communication and care and has in-depth expertise in the latest minimally invasive, arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow. Dr. Nelson received his Doctor of Medicine degree at
George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at SUNY Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York. His participation, in and love of, sports propelled him toward fellowship training in sports medicine at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California, where he had the opportunity to provide on-field coverage for multiple collegiate and professional teams. Dr. Nelson is currently the orthopedic consultant for several local high schools and provides orthopedic care for many local baseball, volleyball, and soccer clubs.
