About

About Dr. Lake

An Arizona native, Dr. Jason Lake is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at OrthoArizona’s Foot and Ankle Institute specializing in foot and ankle disorders. He’s been nominated for multiple consecutive years as a PHOENIX Magazine Top Doc in foot and ankle surgery beginning in 2019, as it was the magazine’s debut year for the category. Since 2010, Dr. Lake has performed over 6,000 surgical procedures correcting foot and ankle ailments, such as deformities, arthritis, sports and cartilage injuries, and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Lake has built his practice in the valley by working as a foot and ankle consultant with multiple professional sports teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Phoenix Suns. His focus is treating all athletes with an interest in the dance population, as they often do not receive the same attention as some of the higher revenue–generating sports. Dr. Lake treats many professional and training dancers, including ballerinas, aerialists, and more! The dance population is one of his primary focuses as an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, providing thorough and efficient treatment of their condition so they can return to their active dance lifestyle. He emphasizes communication with patients and aims to educate them about their treatment options, including nonoperative alternatives, to deliver the best care possible. While he believes surgery is important, it is not as important as the doctor-patient relationship. He is one of the few surgeons that enjoys the clinic as much as surgery!

Dr. Lake graduated valedictorian at Deer Valley High School in Glendale and in the top 1% at the University of Arizona. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society (AOA). He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Campbell Clinic/The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he was elected chief resident. He later completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lake is passionate about medical education and enjoys teaching future foot and ankle fellows at the OrthoArizona Foot and Ankle Institute, one of only about 50 programs in the country.
