Philip To, M.D.

As long as he can remember, Dr. Philip To has always wanted to be a doctor. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when he was five years old. He remembers going to the oncologist and wanting to be the person that could help his mom. After a hard-fought battle with breast cancer, his mother passed, and at age 11, Dr. To was inspired to pursue a medical career.

During medical school, he found that orthopedics was the ultimate profession to heal. While in residency, he truly enjoyed operating on the upper extremity. The meticulous detail and precision that went into the procedures really fit him well. He was also lucky enough to be mentored by many wonderful hand surgeons, including one of the most accomplished hand surgeons in the United States Dr. Peter Stern. Fulfilling a childhood dream and helping people return to function is one of the many reasons why he loves what he does.
