About

About Dr. Khalsa

Dr. Kevin Khalsa is a fellowship-trained spine specialist who treats cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative conditions, spinal fusion, spinal trauma, spinal cord injury, spinal infections, spinal tumors, revision surgery, failed back syndrome, pseudoarthrosis (failure of fusion), back pain, arm and leg pain and other aspects of spine surgery utilizing minimally invasive techniques. His philosophy for his spinal surgery practice is “believing it is his duty to help his patients to understand their spinal pathology in the simplest of terms. Thus, together, embark on a journey to a healthier and more satisfying life, whether that be through conservative or surgical methods. It is his responsibility to pursue conservative care in all possible scenarios, and then if all else fails, offer surgery.”

Dr. Khalsa is the son of an Air Force fighter pilot and a high school teacher and was raised in a household where the notion of honor, duty, and service were held paramount. This standard will be carried throughout Dr. Khalsa’s medical career, and he proudly extends the same qualities to patient care in his medical practice. Dr. Khalsa attended UCLA for his undergraduate training and earned a degree in neuroscience. He attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, which is an academic, inner city New York hospital. He then attended Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, a Level 1 trauma center, and completed his orthopedic residency. Dr. Khalsa went to University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, to complete his spine surgery fellowship and another Level 1 trauma center.
