Advanced Imaging at OrthoArizona

At OrthoArizona, we offer on-site computed tomography (CT) scans at our South Gilbert location.

CT scans help identify injuries and conditions in your body. A CT scan is a noninvasive diagnostic imaging procedure that utilizes X-rays and computer technology to generate detailed, 3D images of the interior of your body, including bones, muscles, fat, organs, and blood vessels. The scans are very safe, involving minimal radiation exposure.

Important things to note for your CT exam:

  • Make sure to inform your provider if you have a pacemaker, metal fragments in your eyes or body, types of aneurysm clips, stents, stimulators (bone, brain, or neuro), and implants.
  • The CT scanner opening is shorter than an MRI scanner, which may help relieve some feeling of claustrophobia.
  • Follow your provider’s instructions on eating and drinking and continue your prescribed medications.
  • Provide a list of your medications including the name, dose, and dose frequency.
  • If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, talk to your doctor before continuing with the scan.
