About
About Dr. Taylor
Dr. Mario Taylor is a fellowship-trained orthopedic doctor specializing in a wide spectrum of spinal disorders, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative disorders, complex spinal deformities, and traumatic spine injuries.
Dr. Taylor treats a myriad of conditions, including but not limited to spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, low-back pain, spinal deformity, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, disc herniations, and failed back syndrome. He has extensive training in both traditional open spine surgeries as well as minimally invasive procedures, including fusion, motion-sparing, and percutaneous techniques in adult patients.
Dr. Taylor emphasizes the importance of overall health and wellness in both helping to prevent spinal disorders and in aiding in the recovery process if surgery is necessary. He believes this is key in helping patients return to an active lifestyle. Dr. Taylor stresses the importance of connecting with and listening to patients as part of the treatment process. His philosophy includes educating patients on their current condition, maximizing conservative and nonoperative treatment options, and when surgery is required, personalizing the surgical plans to their specific pathology, lifestyle, and expectations.
Identified as an up-and-coming orthopedic doctor by several organizations, Dr. Taylor earned a spot in the American Orthopaedic Association’s (AOA) Emerging Leaders Program. As a part of the program, he was able to network with some of the top orthopedic surgeons in the U.S. and Canada, completing exclusive leadership courses and serving in leadership positions within the AOA.
Dr. Taylor already has several published research articles, including work on floating cervical spine injuries and has lectured across the nation to healthcare providers on various topics involving orthopedics, including fracture patterns in multi-ligamentous knee injuries, thumb CMC arthroplasty, and more.
He has also won several awards, including being elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society and registration to the 2023 AOA C. McCollister Evarts Resident Leadership Forum given to the outstanding residents from accredited institutions who have garnered recognition as up-and-coming orthopedic leaders within their program.
Outside of the office, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, working out, and snowboarding.
