Upon completion of his internship and residency in general orthopedics, Dr. Burgess performed an additional year of fellowship training. This fellowship-specific training in hand and upper extremity surgery included an enormous variety of reconstructive procedures and extensive trauma training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has also presented nationally and lectured on topics ranging from joint replacement and tendon injuries to carpal tunnel syndrome and the treatment of improperly healed wrist fractures, just to name a few. Since practicing in the Phoenix area, he has continued to lecture and has been featured in local newspaper write-ups and radio “Ask the Doctor” programs.

Dr. Burgess’ area of interest includes the treatment of traumatic, acquired, and reconstructive conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow.
