Austin Ream, P.T., D.P.T.

Austin was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and attended the University of Delaware for his undergraduate degree, studying exercise physiology. He went to Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to obtain his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He graduated in 2008 and moved to Arizona.

Austin has extensive experience working with all body parts and patient populations. He has a strong interest in the lower extremity with an emphasis on the foot and ankle. He enjoys working with an active and athletic population anytime he can. Helping improve anyone’s quality of life, no matter to what degree, makes his job worthwhile. He has training in a multitude of treatment techniques, including but not limited to dry needling, the Graston technique, Kinesio® taping, myofascial release, the Mulligan Concept, the McKenzie Method, spinal manipulation, TPI certified, LSVT BIG, amongst others. He also has spent 10 days in Haiti in 2010 where we provided 15 patients with prosthetic legs after the earthquake that left the country devastated.

In his free time, Austin enjoys staying active, including playing golf, volleyball, basketball, softball, running, hiking, and lifting weights. He enjoys taking vacations with his wife, two sons (Connor and Logan), to the East Coast to see old friends and family and go fishing or taking skiing trips.

Austin believes in making good first impressions with his patients and creating a safe, happy, and comfortable environment for them so that they don’t dread coming to multiple days a week. He tends to be straightforward with his patients. He explains what is happening thoroughly because if they understand what is happening, they will be more likely to be compliant. He also tends to push his patients within their means, as he feels as though if he doesn’t challenge them, he is doing them a disservice and wasting their time and money, and they are less likely to meet their goals.
