Clay Shorter, P.A.-C.
Supervising Physician
Clay received a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Brigham Young University. He then completed his physician assistant training receiving a Master of Medical Science degree from Yale University. Upon completion of his PA training, Clay returned to his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia, to begin working with the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia/OrthoVirginia. After more than eight years in Virginia, he relocated to Arizona in 2018 to begin working with Dr. Steven Porter.
Clay has experience in general orthopedics, but he has focused mostly on sports medicine throughout his career. He has received training on the use of ultrasound for examination and guided procedures.
Outside of the office, Clay spends most of his time outside of work with his wife and five children. However, if he can steal away to the garage, he enjoys woodworking and building/repairing things.

“I believe that care should be the main focus of each patient interaction. I strive to take time to listen to, answer questions from, educate, and develop treatment plans with each patient.”
