Brian Shafer, MD

Dr. Brian Shafer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine. He has specific expertise in minimally invasive shoulder, elbow, and knee arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Shafer has served as a team physician for multiple professional and collegiate teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Coyotes, Los Angeles Dodgers and National Champion USC football and women’s volleyball teams. He has also served as chairperson of the medical staff for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Insight Bowl games. In addition, Dr. Shafer volunteers as the team physician for local high schools. Dr. Shafer received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. After a surgical residency at the University of Washington, he completed a fellowship at the University of Southern California with a focus in sports medicine and shoulder and elbow reconstruction.
