About
About Dr. Lake
An Arizona native, Dr. Jason Lake is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at OrthoArizona’s Foot and Ankle Institute, specializing in the treatment of foot and ankle disorders. He has been selected every year since 2019 as a PHOENIX Magazine Top Doctor in Foot and Ankle Surgery, beginning with the magazine’s inaugural year for the category. Since 2010, Dr. Lake has performed more than 8,000 surgical procedures, treating conditions including deformities, arthritis, sports and cartilage injuries, and traumatic foot and ankle injuries.
Dr. Lake has built his practice in the Valley and is widely trusted as a foot and ankle consultant for professional and collegiate sports organizations. His consulting experience includes the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, Ballet Arizona, the University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University. He also provides foot and ankle consultation for professional athletes nationwide, including those affiliated with the Detroit Lions, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Ravens, and New York Giants.
He thrives in a collaborative, team-based approach, working closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists, performance staff, and fellow physicians to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient. Dr. Lake’s philosophy is to bring the same high-level, evidence-based care used for elite athletes to weekend warriors, high school athletes, and youth sports participants.
His clinical focus centers on sports medicine and foot and ankle conditions in active patients. Dr. Lake emphasizes communication and patient education, ensuring individuals understand both operative and non-operative treatment options. While he values surgical excellence, he believes the doctor–patient relationship is the foundation of exceptional care and is known for enjoying the clinic experience as much as the operating room.
Dr. Lake graduated valedictorian from Deer Valley High School and in the top 1% of his class at the University of Arizona. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Campbell Clinic / University of Tennessee Health Science Center, serving as Chief Resident, and subsequently completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
Passionate about medical education, Dr. Lake teaches foot and ankle fellows at the OrthoArizona Foot and Ankle Institute, one of approximately 50 accredited programs nationwide.
