Philip To, MD
Orthopedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon
As long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a doctor. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was five-years-old. I remember going to the oncologist and wanting to be the person that could help my mom. After a hard fought battle with breast cancer, my mother passed, and at age 11 I was inspired to pursue a medical career.
During medical school, I found that orthopaedics was the ultimate profession to heal. While in residency, I truly enjoyed operating on the upper extremity. The meticulous detail and precision that went into the procedures really fit me well. I was also lucky enough to be mentored by many wonderful hand surgeons, including one of the most accomplished hand surgeons in the United States, Dr. Peter J. Stern. Fulfilling a childhood dream and helping people return to function is one of the many reasons why I love what I do.
