About Dr. Martin

Dr. Shelden Martin is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and is subspecialty-certified in sports medicine. Dr. Martin specializes in all shoulder, elbow, and knee surgery. He is a national expert, teacher, and designer of total shoulder and reverse shoulder replacement surgery techniques and technology. He is a leader in the use of patient-specific technology and robotic surgery. He performs all arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff repair, fracture repair, and instability surgery. He performs all arthroscopic and open elbow surgery, including elbow replacement, fracture repair, and Tommy John surgery. Dr. Martin performs all arthroscopic knee surgery, including ACL reconstruction and multi-ligament knee surgery as well as all cartilage restoration and patellar realignment surgery. Dr. Martin uses the latest robotic technology to perform partial and total knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Martin cares for all types of athletes at all levels and ages. He is currently the head team physician for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, IFL’s Arizona Rattlers, and Hamilton High School. He is also a team physician for MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks and former team physician for the NHL Arizona Coyotes. Additionally, he is active with his church and volunteering in his community and enjoys hiking and traveling with his wife and 3 boys as well as scuba diving and landscape photography.
